En Masse ∕ UIC School of Art & Design

Exhibition identity

Working within a large group of artists can be a very difficult operation. Having them agree on the look of exhibition materials for their senior thesis show can be even harder. With no concept in mind, a broad title, “en masse”—meaning “all together” or “in a group”—was chosen as it was vague enough to define the exhibition without categorizing or polarizing any of the work. From that title, the process for visualizing this expression began and resulted in a poster, postcard, and catalogue of artist’s statements.
